Detailed Schedule

Monday, March 13 - Orientation and Welcome Dinner

The NYC Seminar will begin Monday evening with a short program orientation to review the agenda for the week and to meet your fellow attendees. The orientation will be followed by a welcome dinner with the Texas Exes - New York Chapter. This will be a great opportunity to ask many of the questions you may have, including:

  • How much should you save up for your first few months?
  • What is an average entry-level salary in your industry?
  • How do you balance the cost of living and entry-level salaries?
  • How do you make contacts?
  • What is the best way to approach a job search?
  • Is it possible to secure a position before heading to New York City?
  • These topics and many more will be discussed.

Tuesday & Wednesday, March 14 & 15 - Office Visits

On Tuesday and Wednesday, you will have the opportunity to participate in a total of six to eight office visits and tours in your chosen area of interest.

Please note that a minimum of 8 students per group are required in order for the group to participate in office visits in a specific track. If by the deposit deadline, a group has fewer than eight students, the group may be cancelled at the discretion of the organizers. In the event of a group cancellation, students will be given the option to move to another group, or receive a refund of their deposit.

Please see is external)for a description of office visits.

Wednesday, March 15 - Networking Reception

The Networking Reception will be the final evening gathering of students, alumni and professionals who have participated in the Seminar. Specific details on this year's Networking Reception will be posted in the near future.

Thursday, March 16 - Hotel Checkout

On Thursday you must check out of the hotel by 12:00 PM. This day has been set aside for your personal networking, information gathering, and job/internship interviewing activities. Make the most out of your trip to New York City and invest some time in setting up individual meetings for Thursday.
